back track 4 настройка сети. Помощь, проблема с драйверами сетевой карты
 
установил дистрибутив BackTrack 4 R1 Release на жёсткий диск
разбивка по дискам:
1. С:/ 47 gb - ext2
2. D:/ 348 gb - NTFS
3. E:/ 15 gb - swap

Но одно но- вайфай модуль подцепился и всё видит, а вот сетевая карта как мне кажется не определяется.


Соображающие подскажите пошагово и покомандно в консоли что делать и куда копать чтобы установить соединение с нетом (вайфай мне второстепенен-важен обычный доступ)? я так понимаю мне нужно дрова установить или я не прав?

а вот теперь сама проблема:

вообщем скачал дрова при создании инсталяции пишет такую вот ошибку

lo - интерфейс обратной петли - не трогай
wlan - беспроводной адаптер
eth0 - сетевая карта ethernet - сделай её дефолтной и всё. По крайней у меня настройки были подхвачены автоматически и прописаны так же. Не vpn подключение. На vpn прийдётся прописывать, и может доустановить парочку пакетов.
В нынешних дистрибутивах многое можно сделать через GUI консоль по ходу осваивай.)

это я знаю, в том то и дело что в настройках светиться только lo, а eth0 не появляется хоть убейся
 
Так стартани службу. Я ж написал. Тогда он и появится. И обнови список интерфейсов... твоя сетевуха вроде поддерживается.
Хотя не стоит лезть в дебри CLI - когда можно через GUI а с командной строкой уже в последствии.
Broadcom NetLink - раз опредилил оборудование - значит понимает как с ним работать.
Но если уж так хочется посмотреть список устройств

Ну и man ifcfg, ifconfig (не знаю точно какие он директивы поддерживает, на 100% не подскажу, сам начинающий)
netconf (если там таковая есть ещё)
и наконец
ifdown wlan0 - для отключения беспроводной карты
ifup eth0    - для подьёма кабельного интерфейса.

Почитай совместимое оборудование с Linux на сайте дистрибутива
Меню-Система-Настройки-Оборудование-PCI
Найди там свою сетевую карту, покажи вывод dmesg.

Эээ. Ты о grep не читал ещё? Я что-то не увидел в выводе твоего интерфейса, хотя раньше он был. (голова болит, просто ужасно)
Посмотри:
ifconfig -a (покажет интерфейсы и их конфигурацию)
Ты писал выше что там показывало беспроводный адаптер у тебя в net-manager, а ethernet не показывало. Отключи беспроводной адаптер перезапусти службу и проверь.
В консоли вот это пожалуй будет лучше
ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.1 - назначить интерфейсу eth0 сетевой адрес 192.168.0.1 (впиши свой выданный провайдером) зависит ещё от типа соединения в случае с vpn - всё делается несколько иначе.
Я вообще  Мандриву лучше знаю чем убунту, попробуй
Сначала ifconfig wlan0 down (если ifconfig -a покажет назначенный этому интерфейсу сетевой адрес и маску подсети впиши их так ifconfig wlan0 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0 down) - отключи\деактивируй карту беспроводного интерфейса, затем настрой и подключи эзернет карту:
ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.0.0 up
назначить интерфейсу eth0 сетевой адрес 192.168.0.1 маску сети 255.255.0.0 и подключить\сделать его активным. Разумеется значения впиши свои - сетевой адрес и маску сети я имею в виду.
Две сетевухи требуют настройки route обычно, их провайдер тебе может предоставить.

Я думаю, что тебе будет проще либо переустановить дистрибутив BT, либо обновить систему. В репозитории должны быть нужные тебе модули. Его просто нужно установить. Ещё проще использовать Live CD или USB. Как вариант поднять на виртуалке.

1. файловую систему надо было ext3 либо ext4 делать, сейчас ext2 используется для /boot раздела
3. зачем так много? swap вычисляется формулой ram*2=swap

а вообще авто разметку надо делать если не совсем понимаешь что и для чего
